  1. a nice looking powerplant. I would love to see a demo of this engine, but nothing seems to have come of it. a thorough web search has yielded no information on its commercial availability. Anyone know Sr. Labala's email address??? most of the info on this engine was published in 2002. It is now 2005. If this powerplant lived up to its reputation, it would be in a few new Cessnas by now, don't you think? Maybe the cost is prohibitive? Maybe the design is too groundbreaking to publish? Maybe there's some cold fusion going on in there I found a site that indicated a relationship between a helicopter (Augusto Cicare??) manufacturer and Labala's turbine, but could not get any further. this mystery is so elusive its driving me crazy... anyone out there have more info?
  2. a pair of incomplete defiant projects (being sold together i think) on eBay Item number: 4556352183 also a vari-exe project needs a new home. from the write-up and answers to questions for the seller, this is a formerly certified aircraft, that was involved in an altercation with the runway (nosegear failure??) and sold for rebuild.now on 3rd or 4th owner.. not sure whether this is a viable project, but it may be of some interest to someone who would like a real challenge. Item number: 4555901795 check 'em out!
  3. There is a long-EZ on the auction Block on eBay right now. The guy has 800+ hours into this build and a licenced set of plans.. check it out in eBay Motors search for item number 4553842876
  4. I agree with you on that point. It's just that if you need more than one copy of the prints for construction purposes, or for the sake of keeping the plans in circulation, digital might be the way to go. I have never been up close and personal to a set of plans for one of these, but I keep hearing about ppl who have a need for spares of templates, etc. and offered a solution. Of course youare about as likely to have access to a wide format printer as you are a wide format copier, but as far as Iknow, the plans are only "B" size prints any way, right?...Out of curiosity, what scale are the drawings typically? Has anyone gone though the trouble of building a solid 3D model of a Canard homebuilt?.. maybe this message should be in a different thread...
  5. I'm a total noobie to this, but It blows my mind that some dedicated engineering type (which clearly this type of project attracts) hasn't taken plans for these aircraft and , using a CAD package, put it in to dwgs, dxfs, or something similar. This is a perfect application for AutoCad, and obviously somebody has the time on their hands to accomplish this. Why would someone pay 500 bucks for plans to a plane if the prints looked like they were scribbled on the back of a napkin? It is far easier to move digital info than paper... and far less expensive. Has anyone attempted this -- my $0.02
