That isn't that bad. I go up to Austin everywhere now and then. It would be up to you, but maybe I could come up for a weekend or two and we can knock out a few chapters.

That's 1400 miles one way. I think I'll double up my efforts to find someone local. Even at the speed of "Cozy" that's a long haul.

I appreciate the offer for the free instructions, that's very generous of you. You never know though, we'll see what comes out of this thread.

Hopefully someone will see my plees and point me to a unpublished local.

I would like to offer my unskilled assistance to anyone living in or near the city of Houston.

I hope to become proficient enough that I will finally take the plunge and purchase my own plans. Right now I lack having a garage, so I'm opting for the next best thing.

I'm probably going to buy the construction videos from Aerocanard so that will definitely increase my overall worth as a free laborer.

I don't think that there is anyone in my part of the USA. I've checked several lists, all I've found is one individual with Cozy IV plans. The one time I talked to him, he indicated that he was moving.

I live in downtown Houston, I would be more than happy to commute to help some one along with there project.

Thanks for the tips. I've already memorized many of the builders websites by now. I talked to aerocanard and this is a brief quote from there reply

"Finally, if you purchase videos and then later buy some kits from us, we

will credit you the cost of the videos you've purchased for that part of

construction. Example: If you buy a set of wing kits, built or unbuilt from

us. We would discount your order the amount of the wing construction videos."

Which doesn't seem to be that bad of a deal. I may purchase them just to bide some time. Hopefully this will help cure my itch to build.

IN approximately two years they will be offering there new 80 lbs/700lb thrust engine. This is the one that NASA helped them with. They say that if it's manufactured in large quantitites it would be comparable in price to a new lycoming.

In addition to all that it has a favorable rate of burn. I don't know exactly what that means.

I know Eclipse was going to use but Williams meet the expectations.

I don't have the facilities to start construction. I was hoping to bide my time by watching some videos on how to build a Cozy.

I know Aerocanard offers a set, but it's kind of pricey. The ten video set goe for $150

Does anyone know of any other canard construction videos for sale.

You wouldn't know the answer to my second question would you. I would like to know an approximate wind velocity over the engine cowl when the plane is idling. I know that your plane isn't flyng yet, but figured someone else might now.

I'm interested in doing some heat transfer calculations. I have some interesting ideas regarding the ever-present cooling issues related to the rotary.

I am cozyless and have no available dimensions. I guess you could say I haven't taken the plunge yet. I was wondering if one of you fine aviators could provide me with a rough estimation of the surface area for the engine cowling. All I need is some off the hip estimations

I would also like to know what the average wind velocity generated by the prop as it idles. I don't need it after the prop, I need it prior to it. I understand that the velocity will vary as it gets closer. I figure any rough estimate across the engine cowl will be sufficient.
