JTest
G'day all I am almost finished with Chapter 4 of the Open-EZ plans. I see Mod #25 from the canard pusher has "aluminum can be substitued for the steel firewall" If anybody knows the thickness and type of aluminum to substitute please advise. Thanks in advance! longezdave
It's been too long ago and I can't look it up right now, but I think this shows it - http://www.wicksaircraft.com/links/Wicks_Links/LECH-4.pdf Quote Dave Adams Long EZ N83DT Race
chasingmars
I am almost finished with Chapter 4 of the Open-EZ plans. I see Mod #25 from the canard pusher has "aluminum can be substitued for the steel firewall" This has been much discussed back and forth and is worth a little archive diving both on the groups and on the cozy list archive. Without opening a can of worms, I wouldn't use aluminium in my firewall over the steel option even if my country's (Canada, not U.S.) regulatory body for amateur builts would give me my COA with it, which I gather they won't.
