tonyrothwell
Has anybody kept an accurate record of the weight of Cozy IV parts? EG Port Wing with winglet and aileron before finishing weighs? Canard weighs? Etc for the whole box of bits before (or after) finishing, so long as it is clear which is quoted. Would appreciate info and Forum Host please move this to an appropriate spot. Jon Matcho
G'day Tony! Has anybody kept an accurate record of the weight of Cozy IV parts? EG Port Wing with winglet and aileron before finishing weighs? Canard weighs? Etc for the whole box of bits before (or after) finishing, so long as it is clear which is quoted. There's some info at www.cozybuilders.org, and I've been tracking my own, but I fiind that most everyone stops weighing things after they get through with their bulkheads. I have been keeping my own list, and I'm curious too, so I'll make another mental note to weigh the wings with and without control surfaces in... several years. Then again, I've been thinking about making the canard this summer... Would appreciate info and Forum Host please move this to an appropriate spot.No problem -- there really wasn't a good section to put this into, so I generalized the former 'Prebuild' sub-forum. raiki
Tony, are you building a Cozy IV ? I saw your Cozy in Mangalore in 99, fantastic work, and had a bit of a chat to you at the same time. I flew in with a Jabiru, and my tent was pitched not far from your Cozy. Now that I have found at least one other builder in Adelaide I will order my plans shortly. tonyrothwell
Jon, Thanks for putting it someplace useful Raiki, Building a -4? Well let's put it this way..... I am having a 'thoughtie' ..... and a new garage/workshop is being built outside as I write....... have had plans for years but too busy flying the -3, around a 1000 hours on it now. But I have some ideas for something a bit different too, not mature ideas yet!! Weights of other peoples Cozy-4 parts would give me some useful input in the design process!! Cheers, Tony Quote Tony Cozy-3 VH-COZ Australia
Jon Matcho
I'm just about to assemble my fuselage, so thanks for reminding me about weighing my parts. Problem is that I don't have a good scale other than my bathroom scale. I'll try to calibrate against a 25lb dumbell (assuming it's correct). Not even sure I'll be able to see the measurements... Jon Matcho
I weighed most of my bulkheads last night, but not the sides -- couldn't find my bathroom scale. Not sure you want this stuff anyway. Still, I'll post my stats soon...
