You would be killing your self for a .00001 increase not just a .000001 increase, maybe that makes it 10 times more worth it.

Some of the racers tried this to gain the last .00001 knot but makes inspection of the hinges difficuilt. saw one case where the hinge pin was 3/4 way out under the tape and the owner never saw it during preflight.

Every year these guys put on a flyin in So. CAL. at one of there home airports and invite many new and would be builders. thought I would pass the info along to the forum. We are having a Canard Fly-in & BBQ at Corona (AJO) on Nov 3 from 10:00am until 2:ish. Their is a balcony with a kitchen and tables at about 2/3 form the east end of the runway that we can use. The Fuel pump at the big umbrella is going to lower their price that day a minimum of 10 cents per gal and maybe 15 cents. Depends on what he has to pay for it at the time. Hope you can come.
