  1. They are really different airplanes. The Long is a plans built and the Q-200 a kit built. There were probably a couple thousand sets of LongEZ plans sold. Wiki says the Quickie Aircraft Company sold about 2,00 kits. I would guess the difference in the number of flying aircraft boils down to the ease of building and customizing, the quality of the plans and follow on support, and the performance.

  2. Steve;

    Thanks for the write up.

    Do you have pictures or a URL to where pictures might be posted? I have a similar situation and have decided to switch to the 7/16 inch rod. Before cutting I'd like to know if I should cut just enough to knock the 3/8" rod out of place. Or should I cut back into the foam and then micro foam back into place after I position the 7/16" rod?

  3. Thank you. I already have the Roncz plans (for another project) but did not even think to look there for the vortilons. I just checked and, sure enough, there they are on C-4.

    Nope, they appear to be different when comparing CP42 and 47.

    CP47 looks to match the ones called out in the Roncz canard addendum (spc).

    I am pretty sure you'll be able to get your hands on the Roncz drawings without too much hassle in the near future.

  4. Where are you located? I have had good luck with autobody repair shops when purchasing paint and primers. Right now I am using PPG K38 and will use a PPG single stage topcoat. The store I am using here in Ft Worth can probably order Valspar if they do not have it where you are. Local will probably be better for you.
