  1. The technology, spirit, and innovative nature of the enterprise with a canard palette. Couple that with your relocation to the western side of the Continent. Seemed like something that might interest you.
  2. Here's another interesting Website one doesn't hear a lot about. There's some talk about this gaggle of speed demons being a part of the Reno Air Races. http://www.rocketracingleague.com Surprises me that Marc Zeitlin isn't among them. David
  3. I have a good friend who just relocated from Kotzebue, Alaska. Bush pilot, flew Cessnas and other spam cans. When I asked about this subject he said he did not see a composite a/c during his 6 years at that job. As far as handling characteristics, his commented that "you need a wing that can handle lots of ice and an airplane that has mucho crosswind capability." His comments came from a postion of flying to earn a living, not flying for pleasure and hobby. He flew in all kinds of nasty stuff...as most Alaskan pilots do. He thought there were other machines better suited for the mission, even if the a/c was hangered all the time and taken out on CAVU days only. I also understand that the reality of Alaskan VFR is just a little bit different from what we in the Lower 48 think. Best, David
  4. Awright. I've been reading posts for months now getting getting prepared for "the build" (while finishing the wife's project...ie, building our (i.e., "her") house). There have been several tempting threads to join in, but this one really got me. I have ancient experience with aviation...crewmember in P-3A's as radio operator and airborne avionics tech. Even got 2 yrs into an EE degree before I changed majors. But that was awhile back. Forgot most everything I learned. Now? I'm an administrator for a psychiatric hospital, maintain a small independent psychotherapy practice, and do some teaching. After 30 yrs of off and on GA flying, finally earned my private certificate 5 yrs ago. How's that for a twist? I've noticed that the technical and engineering occupations are WELL represented on this forum and doggone little from the liberal arts folks. Some of the stuff you engineers and techs write is so beyond my comprehension that I end up with a smile and nod as my best response. But I will continue to muddle through and if I'm not careful...I just might learn something. David Crosby Plans #1259 (possibly the last one Nat sold) Chapt 1-3
