danieldo, I'm in north Dallas. Unfortunately, my project is tucked away in storage until the complete remodel of my house is finished. My goal is to resume building the Cozy this summer.

Funny... or you missed my point.

A plastic container cannot emit a spark.
Have you ever taken off a sweater or pullover in complete darkness?
-
<... why doesn't my lawn mower blow up when I fill it's plastic tank ...>
The flow rate plays a role. Fuel flowing out of the plastic can moves slowly generating little static electricity over a period of time. On the other hand, fuel flowing from the gas pump nozzle moves quickly, and you should keep the plastic can on the ground while filling it.

..why dont we ground our cars before we refuel them?
We do. The aluminum nozzle makes contact with the car's filler tube, thus equalizing the electric potential. No difference in electric potential = no spark.

Jon, plan on some kind of heating setup which can be left on safely overnight. Avoid heaters which dump gases into the garage.

Tha Viper is a modified Cozy Mk4, although one wouldn't draw a connection based on the looks of the planes...
Brice did all sorts of modifications, gull wing doors, folding front seats, retracts, Mazda engine, fuselage shape and size.
I think the gear was an original item, not retrofit.
Probably the only thing that were built per plans are the wings.

Yep, custom manifolds.
No, Brice moved to France in 1999 or 2000. Don't know if he's still there - I've lost contact.
The airplane - "Viper" was purchased by Glen Taylor of Horse Shoe, North Carolina. It's registered as N6227S.

Hmm. Then something is rotten in Denmark. I did just that and the file didn't show up. Perhaps it was a bad file. I'll try something else.
I also noticed you can only select one file per post. Is that correct?

Aaron, you're right. He had the 20B engine. It was imported for him. Brice had a turbo gate lever by the throttle lever on the center console.

Can we post photos to this forum?
I attached a jpg to a message in another post, but it's not showing up.

Jake, I do not have any performance numbers for you. Brice told me the engine develops 300HP and that there is a serious kick in the back upon advancing the throttle on takeoff. This was a twin-turbo motor from an RX-7.
I have a few photos of the plane, including shots of the engine and landing gear. I'll see if I can post them here...

Any reports on what the gear is like operationaly?
Cheers]
Brice Daunay installed the Infinity gear in his very modified Cozy. The plane is registered as "Viper" and it's been flying since 1997. Registered as N6227S.
Brice sold the airplane around 2000 to a Glen Taylor of Horse Shoe, North Carolina. You might try to contact Glen about the gear.
BTW, that airplane has a very nice 3 rotor Mazda engine installation.

Vance Atkinson is an EAA tech and flight advisor in Bedford, TX.
Mike Pollock is also in the Dallas area. He's based at Mc Kinney (TKI), and he's also an EAA Technical Counselor.
I'm sure there are more builders around Dallas. Search the archives of the Cozy mailing list here .
