ltaylor
I noticed a 2.5" lifting "bubble", on the upper surface of the left strake of my recently purchased Long EZ. The area is approximately 3" lateral of the fuselage and approximately 4" back from the most forward edge of the strake. When depressed, the underlying structure feels firm. My research so far indicates that injecting this area with epoxy and weighting will resolve the problem, but I'd appreciate expert guidance from the group. My EZ has 218 hrs TT and was completed by its original owner in '86. Overall, and excellent build and this appears the only problem area. Sure sounds like someone dented the foam with their knee while climbing into the back seat. The dent delaminated over time, leaving you with an air bubble. I'd appreciate expert guidance from the group. ---> Follow the research. ltaylor
Thanks Wayne. The area is over the baggage opening as you pointed out. However, it's on the right strake, which is also the hinge side of the canopy so entry would be from the other side. Appreciate your feedback. Wayne Hicks
When you said "left strake" I took it to mean port strake. Quote Wayne Hicks Cozy IV Plans #678 http://www.ez.org/pages/waynehicks
ltaylor
Sorry Wayne. My original post was wrong "right" not "left" starboard not port; my bust. Thanks again, Lane
