thickness MG2 gear attach plates

I just started chapter 9 and found out that Wicks sent me 3/8" thick 2024-T3 instead of 1/4" thick.

I can see on the plans that some washers are used to center the main gear.

I wonder if I might still make the MG2 out of 3/8" thick or do I need to wait for the new aluminum to come in?

Take a look at the full-sized M drawings and see how much space is there. I don't recall off hand if 3/8th inch spacers will or won't work. But holding them to the drawing should tell you.

Keep in mind that your 90-layer tabs may be thicker or thinner than what's shown on the M-drawing.

Actually that is just what I did, and it looked quite close. Maybe yes, but maybe no??

In the mean time Wicks came through with their great service again and they have shipped today (at no cost to me) a new shhet of aluminum. I guess I will take no chances and wait for it to come in.
