Engine Hp without Turbo

Hi Dan, oops, wrong forum, anyhow regarding the Owner Maintenance Catagory this is what they say word for word.

("This means that you cannot: Change the engine so that it is powered by an engine that is not a single normally aspirated piston engine. This means no turbochargers and no turoprops, turbofans or turbojets, etc.")

Basically they had to set some ground rules to stop guys from turning a 172 into a six place and powering it by turbojet engines.

I agree with setting ground rules, most likely keep a few people alive but eliminating turbochargers, somebody has their head stuck in the sand.

Just a few that are in the Owner-Maintenance Category.

MOONEY M20B

CESSNA 120, 140, 140A, 150*, 150F, 150G, 170, 170A, 170B, 172*, 175A, 177

MAULE M 4, M 4 T

Some of these aircraft will perform very well with an automotive conversion.

John
