CBarber Posted May 20, 2003 Share Posted May 20, 2003 Unlike Waynes event, the weather in Central Texas started ok and got great. The SWRFI seems to be a big success. I have had reports of from 500 to 800 planes in attendance. My personal calculation was...a lot. (I will try to post the official number when/if available). Most of the problems were associated with some disorganization with a new event, but it was not too bad and only a mild distraction. I got to help park planes and talk to the pilots after I directed them into the parking spot. Very entertaining (for me and my S/O, Jana, who help make sure we didn't bang any wing tips). I did so on Friday and it was only kinda busy. I am glad I didn't have to on Saturday morning, the planes were coming in like it was, well, Osh Kosh <g>. Nice event.
