This has got to be the most expensive Long-EZ posting I've ever seen:

It’s only worth 35000 if it has decent low time engine. It has defects in the exterior and old tired panel and interior. It looks like this seller bought it really cheap and has done NO improvements. Plus he’s out of Las Vegas?  That in itself is a RED FLAG.

Wanna overpay for a berkut? A bargain at 249k with an outdated panel

No thanks. Seriously, these second hand Berkut owners must be delusional. Have you noticed the tape coming off from the right canopy sill?  Left side below the canopy appeared to be cracking also. This one looks like the one someone was trying to sell for $100,000 last year I think. Back then it was in pieces. The ad said it was stored since late 1990s. He did not say why it was dismantled or why it was stored instead of being flown since the 1990s. May not be the same one but the frame and the avionics looks same as that one, both antiques.

This Berkut looks little odd. It doesn’t look like a regular Berkut. The nose looks odd and the rear canopy is odd looking. Is this a single seat version. And the control stick is on the left which is really strange. Most people feel more comfortable having the control stick in their right hand and throttle lever in the left hand. The interior looks really worn out. There is no way I would pay $250,000 for this Berkut. Not even close. It would require another 100,000 to make it look right.

This Berkut, rather richly priced.  Buy the EZ above, get there 15 minutes later, invest the $220,000 you save.  🙂

Where did you see this ad, cuz this same guy is advertising on Controller.com and it says call for price.  In addition to exorbitant price  Señor Leal from Mexico is asking for his Berkut, there’s this issue of importing an airplane from Mexico. Let’s say the workmanship on this Berkut is excellent, you’d think for $280,000 it would be equipped with the latest EFIS avionics like Garmin G3X or Dynon SkyView HDX and FULL IFR capability. I agree with Kent, go 30 KIAS slower in a Long EZ, and spend $20,000 on avionics update and you still have over $200,000 to invest in Apple stocks.

I’ve been looking for a clean well built Long EZ or a Berkut for a while now, but I see 3 potential issues with this one; 1. It only has 425 hours since it was finished in 2006. 2. For $310,000, avionics are really dated. 3. It’s in Mexico.  Having flown to and from Mexico, don’t know how easy it will be to import an aircraft from Mexico. Whoever winds up buying this Berkut, make sure he has exterior and interior thoroughly inspected and cleaned because if there is any trace of illegal substance, no matter how feint, the DEA and CBP will have a field day with you and your $310,000 is out the door as your Berkut will be confiscated.
