the Orion G-801 seems to have incorporated many of the ideas you have indicated in your first post of this thread.

...Did you install a blower fan? ...
TMann, here's a link
http://www.pulsarxp.de/technik.htm#klimatisierung
describing the configuration you are considering installed in a German built Pulsar XP. (It's in German, but you may get a reasonable automatic translation).
These builders have used a Naca Duct, a heat exchange core salvaged from an Opel Corse (compareable to a Geo Metro), 4 computer fans, a model servo operated valve and electronics to control fans and valve. You may want to contact them via contact link for further information.

been issued for ther AE 300 powered Diamond DA42 NG, of which according

Basically any pocket PC or smartphone running Pocket OS, Windows CE 2002 or higher is likely to work;

Does anyone know of (or use) a GPS system that uses an on-screen keyboard for data entry?....
I'm running PocketFMS (http://www.pocketfms.com '> http://www.pocketfms.com ) on my smartphone (touchscreen) with bluetooth GPS receiver. It offers this type of input.
There's also a windows based version available. Software is for free. Yearly subscription for aeronautical database is 150 EUR (30 day trial for free).

.... I originally was looking to buy a set of un-used long ez plans, but soon realized I could never fit all that fuel, PLUS a life raft, emercency rations, a first aid kit and my baggage. Not to mention it has a small panel, and I need a lot of navigation and communication equipment. ....
This has been done: in 2000 Swiss H.G. Schmid rounded the world twice (eastbound and westbound) in his Long EZ HB-YCT
