  1. Hopefully they take pricing into consideration in their business model. In my opinion the only way a two-place, recreational, home-built kit can be successful is to make it affordable to the masses.

    Looking forward to it.

Don't know the status of the project/kit that Tony's been working on but I do know that there will be a new kit offering at Oshkosh 2016.

They intend to have a flying aircraft there and will fabricate one entire kit there on the grounds over a 4 day period.

    How's that for real?

  2. Any news on Tony? His website has gone down.

His work was nice and the project looked extremely promising. I kept checking back for an update to his fuselage and strakes. I was hoping his Berkut parts were the lead-in for a resurection of the Berkut, but in quick-build form.

  3. Well, I tried posting it today, but I received an error. I think it's too big to post (the zip file is 2.7MB.) Anyone interested can email me at

and I'll be happy to email it. Maybe someone can shrink it further and post it.

  4. If anyone's interested I've converted mine into a MS Word document. I'll zip it and post it tomorrow. Some of the graphs and pics still need to be tweaked.

  5. [As far as reliability is concerned i am convinced that both the subaru and the honda engines are virtually indestructible. I have seen with my own eyes 280HP - 330HP EJ20 turbo charged engines with 120K+ kilometers (70K+ miles) with little to no measurable wear (with careful users though).]

Agreed that they will run forever in an automotive application; what concerns me is the reliability when running them at the high rpm settings when applied to an aircraft.

  6. I have equipment that would allow me to copy onto a DVD. If someone's willing to part with their video for a couple weeks I'd be willing to give it a shot. I don't know about improving the quality, but at least, we could get it onto a more modern format.

  7. To all,

I have been looking at purchasing a flying Long EZ for the past several months when I discovered an O320 powered Cozy III in my area for sale. One of the Long EZ builder/owners I have been speaking with told me to look into the "balast issues of the Cozy." He said that when he was building his Long EZ back in the 80's he also looked at the Cozy and heard about balast adjustments that needed to be made when going from pilot and passenger to pilot only.

Is this a real issue? If so, please explain.

Could someone please comment on this?

    Thanks,

    John
