Hi. Do you know about the Central States Association? Lot of canard
flyers, builders, and lookers in it (900?). About 11 live in Canada.
I suggest that you (1) Call John Nicholson at 519-780-0609. He will
know any pilots that actually live close to you. Eyeball to eyeball
discussion is a good way. (2) join the CSA. Call me for details at
808-250-0939 or check them at www.ez.org? www.ez.com? (3) when
you find a canard that looks good, contact Ken Miller in NY at
KenezMiller@optonline.net for advice on an inspector closer to you
or the airplane.

I bought a Skyflight digital EGT. Have misplaced the directions
on hookup. The listed phone number is wrong. They have/had
a street address in Portsmouth, NH but I have not written to them
yet.
Can anyone tell me how to find them by phone?
Thanks.

You missed another reason to build a canard: It will float.
When I started, I lived on Maui and had a son on Kauai and an
occasional urge to get to Honolulu. The little aluminum jobs
don't float. I know of a few that are -18,000 msl. One guy
swam for 18 hours before someone ACCIDENTLY found him -
with sharks circuling around when the coast guard got there.

Hi, Group
I have a suggestion: my example
I started to college (University of Texas, actually) when there were
jillions of returning veterans from WWII. LOTS Of them had flown,
many as pilots (ex: George Bush, Sr.) I wanted to be an aeronautical
engineer. Decided there were too many in the field already. So I
changed to chemical engineering. Calculus and other math were
difficult.
Then I discovered zoology was interesting. Then Microbiology was even
more interesting. Got degrees (3). Taught for 29 years (besides 5
years of teaching labs and 2 years before that in high school) in college.
Some people say "Those that can do, DO; those that cannot - teach"
VERY funny BUT I ended with a nice retirement and I built an airplane
on the side (just started awful late on the building).
GO back to college. Take lots of courses. Maybe the computer courses
will lead to lifetime employment. But keep your eyes and ears open.
MAYBE you will find ANOTHER interesting field. And MAYBE you will
become a college teacher.
