Golden West will be at Marysville, Ca (MYV) the 20-22 of this month (June). A handful of northern Ca, builders have agreed to meet under the FSS's front porch at noon on the 21st. for an informal get together and maybe a short road trip for lunch somewhere. Were looking forward to seeing anyone who can make it! Hopefully a Cozy or two will be there, we're expecting Colby and Elsie Farmer from Ky. Anyone else ?

I'm just a chapter 5 rookie but I've found that I don't stipple much either unless there are more than 2~3 layers, then the stipple roller from wicks works very well for bringing epoxy up from below, which I think may be the key to getting a light lay-up with many layers. Tim

Schaumr, My apologies. I forgot the international depth of this forum. As you may understand, emotions are running rather high at the moment. I have edited the mssg. Tim

FYI I just today recieved my new band saw from Grizzly. This is the same one that was featured in "Sport Aviation" last month. Overall I'll give it an 8 out of 10. The trunion could have been made from Cast iron and that would have made it about perfect, as there is a slight amount of flex but not bad. Just about all the rest is Cast iron, runs smooth, works good. I would liked to have bought an American made Delta but they are nearly $900. This one came from Tiawan Tim #1104

Has anyone found a source for raw materials ie Glass / Epoxy other than ASS or Wicks ? I would like to know if the prices we pay are in line with the industry. If I can find another source and VERIFY that the materials are the same it might be an eye opener. For example BFG industries makes a large variety of fiberglass weaves and most are available by the roll at < $1.00 per yard. The problem is ascertaing the suitability of the product. I wonder, does the industry use a standard nomenclature for specifing products?
