I had a 0-235 in my longez and after ten years upgraded to an 0-320. The 0-320 uses more fuel but the extra power is really worth it.

It is listed for sale on the trade a plane website with photos. Asking 40K.

I have the carbon fiber, Mike Mellville style longez cowlings they are very good quality much lighter than my old kevlar cowlings and the arm pit up draft cooling seems to work.

I guess I am the first to have problems with the trio autopilot. Trio has been very good with their support but we still have not been able to isolate the cause of my problems with the servo going to one side and staying there. Trio thinks it is interference from my dual light speed ignitions but light speed says they have not heard any thing about the problem. I have shielded wire going to the servo and am looking for other suggestions before I return both the servo and head for trio to test in their long ez.

I had a 6" extension for years and lately upgraded to a 8". I bought it from Saber also. Supposed to be a bit quieter...

I would only buy at most two gallons at a time. That much goes a long way. If I bought all my epoxy at once I would of been using nine year old epoxy by the time I finished.

I have had a flying Longez since 89 with 1000+ hours. I had a O-235 for the first few years but the O-320 is much better. the 0-235 gets better economy but never had quite enough power to have the take off performance I wanted. My long loaded with two people and close to full fuel needs most of the runway at Jefco for a safe take off. Don't plan to go into a high and hot runway less than 3 thousand feet and get out easily with two and enough fuel for a long trip.

When I had a MA4 carb I did not have a fuel return line. Are you sure it is not a line intended to go to a fuel pressure sender?

Remove the prop, if the leak is coming from the inside of crankshaft it is the metal plug that seals the end of the crankshaft when you do not have a constant speed prop. It is not hard to replace. Hope it did not start to leak because the area where the seal seats is corroded. I think there is an AD out to have the area inside the crank at the seal end inspected at overhaul.

West epoxy is good for filler and other non structural uses... ___

I am changing over to fuel injection and no longer need my intake air box and filter. Make an offer, I also have a 1" suction guage and regulator, Electronics International FP5 instrument minus fuel flow transducer.

You can get chrome rocker covers and chrome push rod tubes and intake pipes from lycoming or you can just take yours down to the plateing shop and have them done, I even had my old style internal wrenching cylinder hold down nuts plated.

Has anyone used the Airflowperformance fuel injection conversion kit?

I have had a navaid auto pilot for 15 years and it has worked pretty well for me. I recently purchased a Trio avionics autopilot and it uses the navaid servo, it is a big improvement over the old navaid autopilot. It not only tracks very well, the display can show all of the navigation information that your GPS provides and it has many other nice features.

My LongEZ has been flying for 15 years with a B&C regulator and for 10 years with a B&C alternator and I have never had a single problem, trying to save money using a automotive alternator might end up costing more in the long run and I bet the B&C alternators are lighter too.

You won't know untill you fly it in the rain or through some clouds. I ended up building a Ronc canard for mine after a bad experience in the rain with mine.

Do you have the vernatherm valve installed? If the vernatherm valve is working the oil will not go to the cooler untill its 170F or higher.
