  1. Hi All; Before I call Dynon or start pulling things out from behind the panel, I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience. I have a Dynon D10 installed in my Vari panel, and have had no issues. Today, though, I powered it up and....nothing. There was a perhaps 1/10 second blink of the screen, then it was black. I do have the backup battery installed, so theoretically it should have switched to that immediately upon turning the main power off. Nothing. Fuse checks good, and other instruments on the panel (Main and Avionics bus) are working fine. Sound familiar to anyone? I read something last night about disconnecting the backup batt and retrying.....then the next step seems to be call Dynon and get ready to ship. Thanks for any pointers or "I-did-this-and-it-was-all-better" stories. Brian N369MS KSMX

    Cowling Ribs

I'm refurbing the existing cowl on my O-200 VEZ - anyone do anything other than 'original' for the end ribs? Featherlite can dust off the mold an lay up a set, but just curious if anyone has done anything different or changed the main airflow w/in the big space of the cowl thanks!
  3. Hello all; We just moved to Vandenberg AFB from Edmond, Oklahoma (and had to leave a great airport, KHSD). I just moved the VEZ into a hangar at KSMX, Santa Maria but am interested in meeting any Canardians in the local or semi-local area. I saw one on the ramp yesterday in Santa Ynez.... Shoot me a line and let me know where you are ! Fly safe, Brian Strack VEZ N369MS
  4. Thanks Kent - pretty much what I was thinking (ref. ground). I ran a dedicated wire from the instrument ground up front back to the engine block and another small wire from the VDO pressure sender to the same block location. Haven't ran it yet (it was 20 degrees today and didn't leave the hgr). I'll let you know how it works. Cheers! Brian
  5. I happily began my first (slow) taxi tests on my total refurbish project yesterday. Many years since the engine had ran, so it spend some time on a test stand putting some hours on. Happy to report that nothing exceeded any limits ! The oil pressure read a little low at 24 psi, but I'm attributing that to instrumentation error since it has an electronic sender and with the direct hose to the gauge on the stand it was strong at 35-40 psi. I'll re-verify all connections etc and see if the accuracy improves. It ran smooth, stopped and turned true, tracked straight. I can't wait to keep moving forward...and upward hopefully ! Any advice/pointers are always appreciated. Brian Strack VEZ 369MS Edmond, OK Sundance Airport KHSD
