Thanks for the info Jo, The history of the wing fitting in the pictures is sure good to know. I do like it though and shows that there are ez's out there that are flying well and not entirely per the original plans for whatever reason that was. I think the TERF cds are great and appreciate the reason they were produced and also the hours of effort that has gone into them. I just wish I had a copy of those extra sheets too. I hope to track them down one way or another. SO if anyone out there wants to help, please contact me. Cheers Patrick

That is disappointing. It is a shame to see an end to this great plane. I realise that the LongEZ is the bigger "better" version, but the varieze is smaller and lighter. This makes a big difference! Oh well Cheers Patrick

Hi all, I did start a thread, but it appears to be gone now. Not sure what happened. I have the TERF Cds and was reading through the plans part A for the Varieze. I got to the part of the fuselage construction where it tells you to refer to sheet A1 to get the firewall template. I can't seem to find this on the CD. Does anyone have a copy of it that I can beg, buy, borrow. I think the instrument panel and front bulkheads are on there too. If they are on the CD, I can't see where. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Cheers Patrick

Wow, Thanks for all the input guys. As I stated in another thread, I am fairly new to the Ez scene. I have been flying other planes for some time and almost forgot about the ez's for a while there. I recently read the book voyager and there you have it. The homework begins. I haven't seen too many around Brisbane and so was wondering just how many there are down here. So this is the story right? The wing fittings are the only things stopping most wannabe builders starting a varieze. There are 2 options right? get hold of some from someone who has been sitting on them since Brock Manufacturing shut down. Or make your own. The first is the obvious answer, but is the second really that hard? Not having seen them I cannot comment, but lets face it. Even Rutan had to do them originally? SO it should be possible to get a manufacturing company to do a run of them if supplied with the appropriate drawings? Has any body tried to draw them in CAD? After doing some more research, I find that these mystical things of legend appear to give eze owners grief after a while what with corrosion etc. Is it possible to make them out of stainless or something? Sure there is a weight penalty, but the lets drop the electric retract mechanism or on board starter in stead? I am sure these questions have been thrown around time and again. Just thought I would drop it in the pot for thought once more. Regards Patrick

Hi Norm, Sorry about that. I have a new computer and the darn screen is so big, I forget to look over there. Not bragging or anything. It is not much of a survey, rather just seeing how many ez's are actually here down under. I see on the RA Aus register there are 4 but not sure how many if any are GA registered.
