  1. Hi, I ordered a antenna kit from RST in late may (with PayPal at their web site). I haven't received it yet so I assume it not going to show up. So how would I go about getting the info on and how install an antenna. as I'm waiting to close out my MKIV bottom.
  2. Hi builders I've decided to shelf my ratio pump when empty in favor of using the scale method, my question is this, would it be OK to store my epoxy and hardner in recycled laundry soap containers, because of the easy use pour spouts. (cleaned out of course)
  3. Hi Builders I just wanted to say that I E-mail Mr. Puffer (as Marc Z said I should do) about the stupid mistake I made installing the Rear Landing Gear Bulkhead in backwards (8 plies to the rear) and his reply was it would be OK to add the plies to the front.
  4. Hi I did as Steve said, and added the plies to the front it only added about 3/64"s to the thickness, I was a little wide on the 8" dim. so now its exactly 8" I tried to contact Mr Puffer today, but they were not home. I made the mistake by looking at drawing M-9 if you look at the drawing the front of the rear bulkhead looks to have the 3 ply side to the front. I'll be sure to always check the text from now on.
  5. I just noticed that I some how installed the rear LG bulkhead in backwards (8 plies to the rear) and I already drill the holes for the strut. Do I need to remove and build another one or will it be OK like it is?
  6. Hi Thank you for the replies
  7. Assembled my fuselage the other day I did the upside down on the bench and it went very well. I have to say that as this project is very exciting as it comes together! I'm looking for some ideas, Does anyone have any pic's or maybe a link to a builders site that has retrofitted the fuel valve out of the cock pit? I'm ready to assemble the seat brace and would like to move the valve out of the seat and out of the cockpit. I don't like the idea of gas flowing in and out. (a big no no in any kind of racing) seems like it could be very dangerous in a bad situation.
  8. I was thinking about selling my Cozy project last year (summer 2007) and I had chapters 4-7. I had started the instrument panel and cut out f22 & f28 and thought I was get a reaction to the fiber glass cloth (when I was cutting and readying the cloth I would get a irritated nose and throat, now I just wear a mask whenever I do anything) and thought I should just sell the whole thing. I listed on barnstormers and some of the offers I got were just crazy 200-800 for NEW materials that I had just paid (July) more than 3000.00 for ( bought some tools also) so after thinking about it for the winter, I just started building again this summer and now I'm working on it every day and ready for chapter 6 real soon.
  9. I need some advice on this, I have a spruce kit from Wicks ( why I didn't just buy the stock and cut to size myself I don't know:( ) but anyways, today I'm ready to fit and install the lwr. tri. long. and their no where the size they should be, ones .625 (5/8) and the other is .750 (3/4) so what should I do keep going or replace? and if I replace is there something I can use instead of shipping a 1x1 105" piece of spruce UPS?
  10. I'm considering buying my canopy from Todd's soon but which one better Clear or Shaded? I'd like to hears some pro's and con's besides the price.
  11. Hi Just thought I'd post a photo, Here,s a photo of us turning final, runway 36 at BML on sat. 08\16\08
  12. Hi Builders As I was returning from the local lumber yard the other day, I was wondering to myself how would I ever get a look at a Cozy MK IV ( never mind a ride) where I live, without traveling to one of the big fly-ins. I live in Northern NH in a small town 1300 residents, anyway I thought I'd go home by the airport (BML)to take a look at the corporate jets that are sometime parked there, when I rounded the conner I couldn't believe it but just in sight there was a Cozy or a Long EZ winglet by the FBO. So I tried to contain myself and go have a look. The owner and builder was there (Al Sweeney Cozy # 048 Al's a very talented pilot). So I told him I was building a Cozy MK IV and was working on it now, I just needed something at the store and drove by airport. We talked for about about an hour and he showed me all kinds of things about the plane. Then he said I'm busy until Sat. with family things and to call on Sat. and we'd go for a ride All I can say is Wow!! what an Airplane. We flew around the area for about an hour doing low approaches and fly bys down the runway at 180 kts and then climb outs and some climbing turns, steep turns and He let me have the airplane for while. A thunder storm was building to the west so we had to head back to BML an put #048 in the hanger. What a Ride !~!!
  13. Hi Anybody interested in the terf cd set for 150.00 let me know. Thanks
  14. I've decided not to build because I have developed a reaction to the fiber glass, I have plans and the M drawings, epoxy(aeropoxy 4+ gallons and hardener), sticky stuff ratio pump, glass, glass balloons, flox and foam (for 4-7 chapters) and the spruce, mixing cups, sticks etc. most stuff still in the shipping boxes from Wicks. Make me a reasonable offer and this is yours. I also have have the terf CD's and printed out The OPEN LONG EZ plans. Roland Abrahams 1-603-449-3498
  15. So I've started with Open Long EZ, I bought the Terf CD and printed out the builder's manual on 11x17 and had staples comb bind the manual into two books. I have a large format printer so I was able to print the full size drawing out by changing the % ratio until the dimension's came out right on the patterns. I have a plotter so, I plotted the templates and I'm ready with that, Been reading the CP's getting the updates (there's allot of reading) I've been printing out the Long EZ updates and adding them to my notes. I also have the materials to build chapter 4 and collecting chapter 5, No epoxy as of yet, I'm going to start off with the MGS 285 but change over to Areopoxy when the weather warms up (I'm going to start building in my garage which is under my house and move out to the building I built for this project in the spring). I just need to get a ratio pump and few other necessities and ready! I'll post some pic's as I go. Roland
  16. Why can't an American based company formulate an epoxy that's equal to the MGS so that everyone wouldn't be in this situation? When I ordered on line (for two gallons and hardener) they sent an e-mail confirmation say that I had 4 hazardous shipping container charges because of 4 quarts of hardener. Has anyone had this happen with the other epoxies ordered?
  17. Hi Talked to ACS they said MGS 285 feb 5 so I said Ok 2 gallons they said Ok 550.00 plus shipping WOW! does that seem right? Ok now my question how many gallons for a "Open Long EZ" Roland

Hello Carnard Zone This is my first post I contacted ACS for some 285 and slow hardner to start my project with and they said not until Feb 5, Thats OK, But I was SHOCKED on the price 550.00 dollars for two gallons with hardner and that not with the shipping! Question, how many gallons are need for a "Open Long EZ".
