  1. An engineer, do you think that we are just that dumb as to not have done all of that already......this is a waste of time. Thank you for reminding me as to why I don't particapate directly on these forums. When you have 35 years experience building and repairing almost 300 hundred eze's call me. I'm done!
  2. Jack is building a beautiful e-racer that will knock your socks off. However, it is still different then the jets. Greg's jet was a prototype for the engine installation only. That way when you have a different style airframe you are only dealing with one major event at a time. Now, several of the items on the new jets have already been tested. Just did not reveal them to the public. Truly the only NEW thing is the vertical fins. Of course when Mr. Rutan built the first eze I guess that was a flying peach crate too! your not so humble builder,(when provoked) Valerie
  3. This one will have the blue on blue. One of the others will be grey ghost and one will be new ghost. Of course the one in Florida will be totally different.
  4. The purpose of moving the winglets was merely to be different, and yes they are SIMIALIAR to the original winglets. As for the need to have more rudder authority you would need to ask Robert. I still get confused over the general airflow stuff. I just build'em or cut'em up.
  5. Gosh, how did I know that a few pictures would start such an interesting conversation. No, the verticals are NOT glassed on. That is the engine cowling that has not been cut yet. The verticals are bolted on to a steel structure that is inside the cowling. Now for the gear. The mains are Roberts design and started their life as a nose strut. The nose gear is a tube in a tube with a spring. Think GP-4. It will be a steerable nose wheel when completed next spring. At the present time we are building 4 jets, one glassair, one SQ2000, 2 vari, and various things on long eze's. Just a little busy. And TMANN, yes I'm dangerous with that chain saw or any other sharp instrument that I get my hands on. Toy, only for my husband to know.
  6. A great place to look for engine weights for the certified stuff is on the FAA website. Its under type certificates. These weights will be "dry" and without all the goodies that make them actually run. Have fun.
  7. Here's my two cents. As stated before me leaks are a pain, cleaning is essential and good filters. Check the filters every hour or flight for the first ten hours. As for removing the baffles they are structure. Darn it. I could have gotten a couple of more gallons of jet fuel. Maintaining rubber bladders is a pain in the ...... condensation and break down is a BIG problem just ask Mooney. ezelady
