  1. What about wing design similar to a British Spitfire, or a P-51 Mustang. The slight angle should help with performance, and help with the stall speeds.
  2. This is my update: 1) all most out of det. 2) about 1 year away from buying a house 3) Got the wife a new Town & Country (the kids love it) 4) Still dreaming about building a air craft.
  3. Did any one give thought to variable swept wing designed? Or even variable swept Cannared?
  4. Just like Grand Master said: “You no make belt fit you. You make you fit belt!” Every inch I take off my waist the better off I’ll be.
  5. Some of you may remember the problem that my brother and I are having. We both have very wide shoulders. He is 6’1” and 200lbs, and I am 5’10” tipping well over 300lbs. Currently I’m doing Fat Flush so I can take off the weight. I know I’ll have to get down my old High school Football/Wrestling weight of 200-220lbs. But I have about 12 to 18 months before I’ll be able to start the build, and then a few years for the build. 1· Adding 6” to 12” to the width of a Cozy Mark IV. 2· Staggering the front seats of the Cozy Mark IV. 3· Modifying the Cozy Mark IV in to a 3 or 2 place plane. Dose any one have AutoCAD DWG files. Once I get my plans I’ll need to redraw parts of the plain to fit my needs.
  6. I don't mind being the first to do something different or strange. I just don’t want to make a $10,000 mistake...
  7. The width of the Cozy is 42". If we where to add 18" to make it 60"; dose any one know how that would effect the aircraft? I know it would add weight, but I don't know how much. Alternatively, I could just forget about expanding the width of the Cozy, and just make my brother sit in back.
  8. With in the next years or two my brother and I are going to start building a aircraft. I’m 5’10”, and he is 6’1”. The only other problem is that we both have very large shoulders. Dose any know how wide a custom Cozy Mark IV has been made? The other option is to make it a Cozy Mark IV 2+Place, or put in a bench seat. I’m open for suggestions.
  9. If you’re a big guy, or like a lot of room. You can always make the Mark IV in to a tandem aircraft.
  10. Dose any one know the make and model of the experimental plane that he was flying? I know it had a cloth skin, but out side of that, I don't know anything els.
  11. Hey PaulL, The only thing that I could think of is that their may be a magnetic field that is too close to the Dynon. You could use a hand held compass to see where it is coming from, or I’m sure that Radio Shack has some sort a meter that you could use.
  12. Thanks for the information on the Dynon... I was wondering how well it faired in the sunlight. That would probably be the biggest deciding factor in using the Dynon or not. If you can’t see it what good is it. It will be about 3 years before I'll be able to start building my canard. I don't think it is too early to research everything you need. Seeing how avionics are about 1/3 rd of the cost.
  13. Just looking to anyone’s opinion about this "Dynon Avionics", or any other integrated product. The price is right, but I don’t know about the reliability.http://dynonavionics.com/index.html. It has intigrated in it: Airspeed Tape Digital Airspeed Bank Angle Turn Rate Indicator Magnetic Heading Altitude Tape Angle of Attack Tape Barometric Settings Clock & up/down timer Softkey Menu Buttons Slip/Skid Ball Artificial Horizon Options: Internal Backup Battery Remote Compass, EDC-10A Flush Mount Bracket Unheated Pitot Outside Air Temperature Probe, OAT Encoder Converter Wiring Harness Price with options: $2,788 Upcoming Products: 7" Multifunctional Display (MFD) Autopilot GPS/Navigation
  14. I'm saddened to see the dissention of the free shareware. That information in the free shareware was a deciding factor if I should build an aircraft or not, and the PDF is not detailed enough to build an aircraft. You still need the temples. Ether way, I’m done with Part 1 of me 4 Part plan. 1) Out of det. 2) Buy a house. 3) Buy my wife a new car. 4) Build a aircraft. It will be 2 or 3 more years before I will be able to build my plane.
