  1. dmchaplin, you don't happen to have more info on that...web link or something else you can point me too. I did some googling and didn't come up with anything.
  2. Another Long Story short :-\, gear leg overheated (melted at the point the aluminum heat shield was RTVed on.) The brake disk was almost touching the aluminum shield (about 1/16" clearance). The space used to be about 1/2"+ gear leg is definitely distorted. I've attached pictures after all has been removed(axel and such) OK how about a bow gear leg that got over heated? What would be the recommended procedure for the fix? Heat, reshape, rewrap with bi direction glass wrap, done? Or cut off the distorted part and repair by splicing on a new piece, which I've seen explained in multiple locations?
  3. Hello again! Does anyone have the pinouts diagram for a Garmin GNC 250 (NOT XL)? I can be emailed a pdf @ matt [at] kwiatkowski [dot] com. Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks Waiter. I think I'm more in need of a replacement gasket than anything as the current gaskets are hard as a rock...I tried a couple tricks of softening them, but none seemed to work. You don't by any chance have a manufacture info or something like that? I'll call A/S but the more info I have the better... Thanks again!
  5. Man you're fast waiter....on both sites! But I can't seem to find the part number you refer to in the 2008 aircraft spruce catalog or their web site.....
  6. OK so I need some help Identifying a fuel cap in my Long-EZ that I'm restoring. The caps either need to replaced or need to find another cap that will fit in the receptacle. They use a one piece rubber grommet that gets expanded when the lift tab is depressed. Any case the pictures tell the story better than I can...The outer ring size is 3" while the inner ring size is around 2 5/8". HELP! http://lisasimpson.homelinux.com/gallery2/v/defiant/indy_long/fuel_cap/
  7. Anyone doing a panel upgrade who wants to get rid of a relativley good shape used NAV/COM? I had a KX145 radio and it doesn't do the .025 hertz freq. so an upgrade is in order....thanks in advance.
  8. My 2 cents...seems you might need a different aircraft for your mission. I would suggest a Defiant...two engines, designed for redundant flight and long trips...carries 4 plus lots of baggage. Then you don't worry about single engine failure and having to ditch the aircraft, you have an engine failure...just keep flying to the closest airport.
  9. If any one is interested in a set of Official Cozy III plans serial number 560. Plane was never started. This version of the cozy is essentially a long ez just side by side configuration..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cozy-Canard-III-First-Edition-Plans-Serial-560_W0QQitemZ260163249328QQihZ016QQcategoryZ26441QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. I am in the process of Major Overhauling 2 TCM IO 360-D for a Rutan Defiant. I already have Prince P-Tip 76x80 props for the engines. OK now the question. Do I need counterweights? If so, what order of harmonic cancellation do I need to install? Obviously TCM has no info regarding this particular engine/prop combo as this is an experimental application! I have a letter into Prince Props, but no response yet...
