Sure enough, a Yellow COZY, turned out to be a nice couple from Arizona, Brian and Karen ........Pretty Yellow Cozy III. THANKS FOR THE VISIT...........

I have been involved in learning my NEW JOB..........and have missed you guys alot. It seems they expect a lot out of an Airport Facilities Director.and here I thought I could just hang out at the Airport. I have had classes on Pesticides, Herbicides, Zoning, P. R., Safety Procedures and Plans of Action(per FAA), F.O.D., ..............I have been tested and probed by Doctors, and The Airport Advisory Board, not to mention the different "Pilot Clicks"..............Jeeze, retirement was great , I miss it. The new look of the new forum here is GREAT, someone must have hired an Interior Designer. I will be starting next week as a Volunteer Fireman.........and won't get paid any money for this, but it is part of my life........... A few of you mentioned the personal aspects of life.... So will I I am a Father of a beautiful daughter of 27 years and her husband is like a son, I am a Husband to her mother for the past 25 years (do NOT do the math), I am a Healer, Guide, and Teacher to any so simple as to learn or need. I stay pretty involved with several art related charities, so as to gain much needed respect from peers. oh, and I chop my own fire wood with an AX, 5-6 cords a year, but I am thinking of getting a log-splitter. I decided to keep my Cessna 172, and will build my Cozy/JO-Z a little slower than previously thought. Perhaps I will start around June. Later, Peace-Love-HOPE............ Joe

It would be nice to find out what do "WE" do during the rest of the week when not Manufacturing "Space Ships". I would love to be the first to the Plate...........I just started my new job: Please do not let my BRAGGING keep you from listing your job<SMILE> As a Town of Taos Employee my Title is Airport Facilites Director My Duties are Snowplowing the runways and taxiways, general security, Public Relations, General Maintenance, record keeping , and last but not least- watching Propguys and Jetguys land and takeoff..Someone has to do it

Well,............I agree with Dust, I like the way the winglets look. To me, the wing would look incomplete without them. Perhaps it would be nice to install an "Ice Skate Blade" on the underside of the winglet.(For tip scuffing)

The only thing I differ on "Spodman" is: It only takes a Milisecond to make up your mind what you are going to do, so after that I figured I had it licked. By the end of the first day, when I went to bed.............I knew it was over. I never felt like "Well let me see what happens at the end of the month." With a name like Marble Turtle............The Chief NDN is more worried about what kind of character you are than if your airplane is parked in his field. Hey MT, Wavoka, The Paiute Messiah, would have told you the answer if you would have asked him............. All Indians everywhere must Dance and keep on Dancing. I know several people(other than the ones above) from the "Cozy E-Mail" list are going, they have said as much on the e-mails. I think they must feel like,"There is no reason to state my intentions HERE" I am watching this "THREAD" very closly.........So I will know who to ENVY. I can NOT go. Joe

Steve, I am not building yet, and I am sure you want dust or Johns input.........but You know , On the draewing there is a "break" they are not showing all of the part. They do say to make F-28 at the the center 4inches (That is 4 inches total, not add 4 inches) But the "break" where they "cut out", or just didnot include some of the part to save space........looks like where the problem you are talking about is. They do tell you to make it 16.25 inches from the "Notch" to the center. Hope this helps........ John Slade, Am I missing something......... or is the trip through the hangar your last post on your web-site? I Really have been missing your daily "Short Stories", of progress. I sure don't mean to be DEMANDING. It seems like between you, Marc, and just one or two others we could put together a REAL nice "Our Daily Commentary" thread, that would Give the rest of us some GREAT DAILY READING. Notice, How I expect y'all]/B] to do the writing????????? It has been very KIND of you to submit so much writing, for our Critique.........BUT...........if you ever get to wondering "Do I still have it?", I think I can speak for the rest and say........Please Feel Free to Continue or re-submit some new material. Marc Zeitlin, Why do you not publish your "MY Flight Stories", here as well? After The Story has been written, it would very simple to "CUT & PASTE".............Please consider.....Please....... They do make for A Pleasant Read, and I am sure a few people would enjoy it. If they do not enjoy the stories, they could just "NOT READ " them. This forum reaches an entirely different group of people (Although I do see familiar names). We FLyers, and Builders are all in this together. Trust me, you WILL come across in a warmer light. Someone in Florida, that was up for a SKI TRIP in Taos,NM..............Wants my Plane. I hate to see her go, but he is very interested. I asked if I could fly it out to Florida, with him. ( Hoping to get a chance to visit, John and his turbo Rotary We arrived at a price of $30,000................I wanted to give anyone here that might be interested one more shot. I would much prefer selling her to someone, I knew(At least somewhat). Or at least someone who is responsible.(Of course, Why would anyone with Half a Brain want a Cessna 172, when they are building a COZY, or Velocity......or any Canard) Looks like I will be ready to buy the truck load , soon. COZY BUILD here I come. One last picture.

I have been thinking fondly of you guys today. I read a letter today about a gentleman that tore up the sky over several Eastern States, Giving rides to New Cozy Builders and Prospective Cozy builders. Well I myself was up tearing holes in the Western Sky. I had an opportunity to get some “Complex” time in, and some “IFR” knowledge, with a Kind gentleman out west. I really was grateful for the experience this gentleman is giving me with “IFR” &”Complex”….So Keep this in mind while reading any of the sarcasm in this “Tale”. We set out this morning about 8:00 AM, in a plane that starts with a “M” and ends with “oony”…….went south about 200 miles, streaking across the sky at 153 MPH(Fast after cruising in my 1959 C172, at 100mph)You would be very proud of how nice I was to this VERY PROUD m OONY owner. This plane has the IO360/Turbo tsio……….Thought of Dust and his engine. Every time I checked the Turbo gauges, I thought of John Slade, and wondered “What is he doing today< did he get air born?” I had watched Norms “Short Movie” last night Thanks Norm, so with every landing and takeoff I thought of him…….Norms landings and takeoffs were great compared to this “BIRD” We saw most of New Mexico, Looked East into Texas and decided “NO” let’s go to Arizona, So we buzzed Mt.Taylor, crossed the border and headed to Utah. Before we got to Utah, we decided to cut back into NM, and overfly Chaco Canyon, then landed in Shiprock. Did a couple of “sacred 360’s “ around the “Navajo Sacred Rock”, buzzed a couple of Navajo kids around Teec Nos Pos, BOY they were jumping up in the air waving their hands, they wanted a ride bad. This is some BARREN LAND, we got down in the bottom of the San Juan River, and followed it up to the “Four Corners” monument and headed into Utah. We turned around between Bluff and Blanding, went back east to Cortez, Colorado. We went over all of my favorite Holy Places, Up the Canyon towards “Mesa Verde”, through “Ute Mountain Ute” canyon, Man I have had some good times camping out there. As the “Bird” climbed out of Cortez airport and we headed North into the High Colorado Rockies, I was thinking “WOW, soon I will have a plane that outclimbs, outruns, and PLUM looks sexier than this plane……Dust/Mike’s word came to Mind “Life is Great” We got back down lower, and skimmed the water of Navajo Reservoir , Beautiful Open Country………….For Hundreds of miles. We Zigged and Zagged all day, If you were to look at the GPS read out of our trip, it would look like a couple of drunken Lost Pilots. The sky out west is the most beautiful Blue …………… The area between Cortz Co, and Taos,NM…..Is pretty much uninhabited……….and the Mountainous Regions 50 –100 miles west of Taos, is Totally uninhabited and covered in snow……………The Brazos Cliffs, untouched by man Have NO competition in Beauty. I have seen all of the Rockies from Texas to Alaska, and I do Believe, ”I live in Heaven”. I wasn’t in a Cozy in Reality, But in Taos, we try not to spend much time in “REALLITY”…………..Today I was imagining Cozy IV Jo-Z………..and My Spirit Rising. I didn’t do anything for anyone today, But Me…6 Hours of “PIC”….. Quite unlike the Wonderful letter I read about a Man Giving of his time today out East. I CAN wait until I get a ride in a cozy, but someone will have to pry me out. I thought about you guys, and wished you were here……………especially the ones with a Flying Cozy.
