  1. I am currently ready to install the Atkinson fuel sight guages with the LED lights that I purchased with the guages. In the instructions, nothing is mentioned about where to run the wires that come off the LEDs. I would assume that they should be run inside of a small channel in the foam under the 2 layers of UNI, down and aft into the forward opening of the electrical channel. The wires can then be lengthened to run to the appropriate switch (cabin light/dimmer?). Does anybody have any comments or recommendations reguarding the direction that the wires should be run?
  2. I purchased an original set of defiant plans (serial # 56) from Burt way back when. I had maybe 1500 hours into building it when Hurricane Iniki took my project, along with my dad's own designed & buit bi-plane, and scattered them all over Kauai. At that time, I thought that I might build again, and obtained exact copies of the template pages that I had cut up, from another Defiant builder. I never did restart the project again, mostly because of having kids and other financial concerns. Now I decided to start building a new plane again, but this time I decided on a Cozy (less expensive and less building time). I never really thought about selling my plans until now. I just joined your forum and have discovered that there is still interest in people wishing to build Defiants. BUT, before I ran into this thread, I found another forum member that was interested in purchasing the plans. Not trying to gouge him, and just feeling good that someone could use the plans,I offered him a pretty small price for the plans, in which he sounded elated. I told him that I would be out of town until Jan 4th, and would contact him when I got back in order to complete the sale. If for some reason he decides to back out, I would gladly sell the plans to anyone else that is interested. I will let the forum know of what happens in Janurary. Happy building/dreaming! John Wells
  3. I am nearing the end of chapter 4 on my Cozy Mark IV project (plans # 1172). Does anybody know if there would be a problem with substituting 3/8" plywood for the 1/4" plywood called out in the plans for the temporary firewall? I have a piece of 3/8" just the right size that is laying around not getting used, and I don't currently have any 1/4". Thanks, John Wells
