  1. Hi, I downloaded the shareware and then loaded on a HP 3700 (Maybe 3800?)series PDA and tried to use it. It totally will not run... . Seems to lock up right after the intro page. I did dig a little deeper (checking into the various forums on the web site) and discovered other people have had trouble with the same model of HP PDA's also. Others said it worked great on other HP models (2300? series maybe, don't have the info in front of me right now) and also worked great on DELL Axium models. So, it could just be my model doesn't respond well. Bummer....I'll have to try a different model PDA. Good luck.
  2. Wow, this looks promising. I did the conversions on just the turbine itself: Weight 55KG = 121 pounds Length 600mm = 23.6" Height 500mm = 19.7" Width 370mm = 14.5" I emailed the company to ask about applications, cost, and shipping to the US. I'll post any replies.
  3. Jim and to all: This may be a little off, but it happened to me and I'll post it to maybe help others........ I had a brand new 18' boat once that I kept locked up in a boat storage place not far from where I lived. Kept it there about a year. Well, one day the owner of the storage place calls me at home and ask "Did you happen to take the motor off of your boat for some reason?" I said "What.....?" Took a little ride down there and found my one year old 110 hp Johnson outboard motor was GONE off of the transom, along with all the controls. This particular storage place had metal doors, roofing, and siding, but the dividers between the stalls was CHAIN LINK FENCING. When I was in my stall for example I could SEE into others peoples stalls and see what they had in each. (I'm NOT a thief, so I never thought about it). What apparently happened was the stall next to mine was empty, the thiefs came into the stall next to mine, cut the chain link fence with wire cutters, and proceeded to help themselves to my $6000. motor. Insurance only gave me $4500. (because I didn,t have REPLACEMENT value insurance or some crap like that). They deducted the value the same as a used car in other words. So, I hope this helps someone out there.....look around where you keep your stuff.....check out your iinsurance for the "replacement" clause on your insurance......and good luck. David Swain

  7. HEY...... I didn't hear anybody say anything about using a 'parking' brake when you "PARK" the plane at the end of the day.......! (I know.....another smart a$$) Love ya!
  8. Man, I have got to get with the program...just NOW noticed this post.......I think the statue of limitations has already expired!!!!! I'm kind of like the stealthy one here....always watching but not saying much. Noodles asked if I was building yet....no. Aaron, my first response would be very similiar to yours...."I...uh....well....uh....want to...uh...(hangs his head)....maybe someday soon....." I'm GOING to go back over to Chris's house soon and at least get my hands dirty on his project again. I need to learn more anyway. Chris, got any Diet Pepsi....
  9. ...Hey Aaron and Mike....Perhaps a first 'flighter' could BREAK a bottle of Fosters over the "ship" when it successfully returns!! Kinda like they do when they christen a new ship. That way even non-drinkers could participate. Of course, I don't know if I would want to take the chance of scratching up my new bird....... What ya think???
  10. I hardly ever post and I hope it comes out alright.... My day job is actually a day and night job...I work as a chemical plant operator for one of the numerous plants along the Houston ship channel. Been doing it for nearly 30 years. Work four days on and four days off, 12 hour shifts, but, I've been getting a lot of overtime lately. Hope to start building one day. David Swain Houston, TX.
  11. Hello Group, Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I am about to order a set of plans for the Cozy MKIV. I debated for a long time as to what aircraft I wanted to one day own, as I'm sure most of you have at one time or another. Van's sure has a lot of good offerings. BUT, (there's always a BUT!) after finding out that Chris Barber lives in the same town as I do (Houston), I called him up recently and we talked. He graciously invited me to his house and I spent several hours over there Saturday. We talked for hours about the Cozy, the Velocity kit he is building, and general composite construction. Then, we dug in!! We put on some gloves and we were doing something new to me...laying up a "dry" macro coat on the bottom of his right wing! (I think I said that right!) Totally cool for me!! Its just not the same as seeing it on a web page, you have to "get your feet wet!" I am amazed at the dedication it takes for someone to tackle a project like this and see it to its conclusion. Chris is most informative and helpful. I suspect from what I read here and other places, all Cozy / Velocity builders are like this. I am glad I had a chance to do this...I'm sure I can tackle this and see it through also. I don't know why I waited this long!! Now, if I can just get this stuff out of my hair......... David Swain
  12. Hey Chuck, Looks to me like the wheels ARE off the ground!! David
