  1. John, at Lockheed-Martin I believe it was a custom that the test pilot carry the wallets/personal items of the team that built the plane and the ground crew........in your case I guess you'd take up Char's purse on your first flight, although that may present an odd photo op on your triumphant egress from the cockpit after you land!! Regards, all the best on your upcoming milestone, Bob Macon #1242 N808RM Ch. 4
  2. Since I'm just starting on my Cozy building adventure, I'm trying to build up a list of builders in my general area (NW U.S.)that I can visit as need be to see different phases of construction, help out to learn the hands-on, etc. But, aside from a few I've stumbled upon, it's been abit difficult to figure out who's where. I'd like to know if the forum community would find it useful to add some additional search capability to the "Advanced Search" area under the Members tab. Specifically, I was thinking of a search by location, and perhaps a search by current chapter you're working on. I realize to make it truly useful you'll have to keep your member stats somewhat current, but just an idea to think about. Does the Forum believe this would be a useful function?
  3. Last month's FLYING mag had a reference to a VariEze accident outside of Palm Springs in which the canard appears to have departed the aircraft in flight --I poked around and found this mandatory ground notice on EZSquadron: http://www.ez.org/raf_elevator_inspection.htm Looks like elevator flutter due to overweight/mis-balanced elevators. If this is old info I apologize - new to the forum and still getting up to speed on what's common knowledge in the collective consciousness..... -Bob Macon

    ox for dog

New to the forum, not even a dog-owner, but remembered a news-nugget that might be helpful to the folks talking about flying their pets up high: Saw a news blurb during the So. CA wildfires about several San Mateo paramedic/fire crews having dog-nose shaped masks for O2. Here's the best link I could find: http://peninsulahumanesociety.org/resource/oxygen_masks.html Hope this helps - good luck with the pooches!
