  1. I'm an elementary school principal for the past 10 years and elementary teacher for 7 before that. I get to make sure no child gets left behind while trying to maintain my own sanity. Remember, the goverenment is here to help! I've had my license for 15 years and just decided to get ratings to a CFI so I can combine my passion and my work. Won't get rich, but man what fun.
  2. What about metallic flakes? A little more weight, but wow, what sparkle!
  3. Call ACS and ask them to send you a materials break down list for all the chapters. You may have to wait for someone to get back to you (I did). That allows a comparison of what is included in the chapter kits price. Wicks already has this in their catalog. You can also compare what they send to what you need.
  4. I did a comparison of Wicks and ACS by chapter. It was very chapter dependent with regard to chapter cost and often they were well within range of each other. I have not yet called to order anything from Wicks. When I called ACS to get chapter list breakdown it did take two days and the sales person had to get someone else who knew what I was talking about. When we got it figured out the parts list was sent out immediately and received in a timely fashion. A set of headphones ordered from ACS were also received quickly. I do like and encourage competition between suppliers and will price compare as I build. On another note, I have enjoyed the informative postings and learned a lot reading on line. The personal comments and tone that has come across lately is a real negative and doesn't truly reflect the quality or caliber of people on this site. As Itell the people who work for me, "Keep it professional and don't personalize every little thing. It only gets in the way of what we really need to do." Just my 2c worth.
  5. I got my plans for Christmas. Planning, cleaning the garage, getting the hot box, all the little things before the big start. I'm with the others. Get some temporary shelter and start. My plans came with the required newsletters, but those were from Nat, not ACS. So... Enjoy the process and great to hear your wife will be involved. I'm hoping I can get mine out there helping too.
  6. A lot of people seem to be utilizing the MGS and getting lower part weights per average. Is that your experience also? I'm planning my project now and gathering info. on what works the best.
  7. I just ordered my plans as a Christmas gift to myself with the wife's blessing so I won't keep complaining about wanting to do it. Really looking forward to the experience.
