  1. Trevor, Actually, they do have HDF(high density fiberboard). Pergo wood floor laminates use it on their planks. You can also buy it in sheets just like the MDF.
  2. Medium Density Fiberboard
  3. Thanks for all the information. Also, the other Cozy group stated that the date was put on there to keep our government happy. It seems I’ll be fine for a good while.
  4. Group, I noticed that there is a “best Before” date on my MGS hardener. Is there a rule of thumb to use this after the date? Joe Cygan Cozy MKIV #1022
  5. Joe P. Dude, your starting to scare me!
  6. ...I’m sorry. I was thinking you had the super import 2 stroke Honda R1. I like that bike and when I hear R1 I automatically think of it. You have the YZF R1, right? Super bike! It’s funny you mentioned the Harley thing. It’s not as bad here but similar. If only those guys riding those hogs knew that the Harley’s coming off the production line today have more than 20% Japanese parts on them today.
  7. You really have one of those thirty-thousand dollar R1's? Use to have a FZR1000 w/slide carbs. Best therapy.
  8. Joe, I want to fly with you man. I mean I really want to fly with you. Marbleturtle, Dude your hanging on too tight. Why don’t you and I go get a beer. Spodman, Could not of said it better.
  9. Joe, Don’t ever change who you are just to fit the “scene”. There are too many followers following the followers. Aviation is full of them!

  11. Not too sure were I heard it. Maybe it was the turbojet that your talking about. I think when we were all talking about turboprops on this forum a year and a half ago. I thought I stumbled on some information about someone who was going turboprop. Joe Cygan Cozy MKIV Southern California

  14. I think that Marc did touch on a good point.I like the idea of having to post you real name in full.I have seen a lot of unnecessary knife throwing in other forums that probably would of never of happened in the first place if they new who their name were.I myself have no problem giving out my full name.If I say something that is bad well, that's egg on my face and the learning process starts, right. However, people that do not give their full identities will always have a back door out.I did not mean to get on another subject.Just a suggestion.
  15. I really like that homebuiltairplanes.com site. It's nice to see a site that has no one focus on one airplane.I'm sure you'll be able to get a lot of information from there as the site grows.
  16. 'Twas the night before Christmas, and out on the ramp, Not an airplane was stirring, not even a Champ. The aircraft were fastened to tiedowns with care, In hopes that come morning, they all would be there. The fuel trucks were nestled, all snug in their spots, With gusts from two-forty at 39 knots. I slumped at the fuel desk, now finally caught up, And settled down comfortably, resting my butt. When the radio lit up with noise and with chatter, I turned up the scanner to see what was the matter. A voice clearly heard over static and snow, Called for clearance to land at the airport below. He barked his transmission so lively and quick, I'd have sworn that the call sign he used was "St. Nick". I ran to the panel to turn up the lights, The better to welcome this magical flight. He called his position, no room for denial, "St. Nicholas One, turnin' left onto final." And what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a Rutan-built sleigh, with eight Rotax Reindeer! With vectors to final, down the glideslope he came, As he passed all fixes, he called them by name: "Now Ringo! Now Tolga! Now Trini and Bacun! On Comet! On Cupid!" What pills was he takin'? While controllers were sittin', and scratchin' their head, They phoned to my office, and I heard it with dread, The message they left was both urgent and dour: "When Santa pulls in, have him please call the tower." He landed like silk, with the sled runners sparking, Then I heard "Left at Charlie," and "Taxi to parking." He slowed to a taxi, turned off of three-oh And stopped on the ramp with a "Ho, ho-ho-ho..." He stepped out of the sleigh, but before he could talk, I ran out to meet him with my best set of chocks. His red helmet and goggles were covered with frost And his beard was all blackened from Reindeer exhaust. His breath smelled like peppermint, gone slightly stale, And he puffed on a pipe, but he didn't inhale. His cheeks were all rosy and jiggled like jelly, His boots were as black as a cropduster's belly. He was chubby and plump, in his suit of bright red, And he asked me to "fill it, with hundred low-lead." He came dashing in from the snow-covered pump, I knew he was anxious for drainin' the sump. I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work, And I filled up the sleigh, but I spilled like a jerk. He came out of the restroom, and sighed in relief, Then he picked up a phone for a Flight Service brief. And I thought as he silently scribed in his log, These reindeer could land in an eighth-mile fog. He completed his pre-flight, from the front to the rear, Then he put on his headset, and I heard him yell, "Clear!" And laying a finger on his push-to-talk, He called up the tower for clearance and squawk. "Take taxiway Charlie, the southbound direction, Turn right three-two-zero at pilot's discretion" He sped down the runway, the best of the best, "Your traffic's a Cozy, inbound from the west." Then I heard him proclaim, as he climbed thru the night, "Merry Christmas to all! I have traffic in sight." Best Wishes,Cygan Family
  17. That is one of those things I don't understand ,is people who want to build an airplane with minimum tools.I have met so many people that have told me they want to start build an airplane but they don't want to spend a lot of money on tools, what! You'll probably spend close to fifty thousand dollars putting together a Cozy,so why not splurge on a few thousand for tools.Take pride in your plane, take pride in your tools.Think about it,we'll all be gone in a hundred years or so and maybe our airplanes will be gone to.But,when your grandchild picks up that wrench in the garage and asked your daughter what is this?bam!the stories start and the legacy begins, get it!
  18. I personally like this group.I like the fact that a lot of you have no problem saying what you think, crap or not.I like the fact that this forum is not screened for proper content.I know that there has been a lot of bitter discussions lately and I like the fact that everyone can still see past them. When you have a group that confirms to certain ideas and behaviors, things can be pretty boring. That will never happen here. The occasional insult or arguments are a good thing, keeps things fresh. I hope Marc sticks around and Marvelturtle to.I hope I can pull the old foot out of the mouth before posting. But most of all,I hope can learn from everyone of you.Ahhhhh isn't that sweet,Merry Christmas!
  19. Alright, come on everyone, lets do a big group hug.Let's not let this thing get bigger than it is!
  20. Ok,alright,I think I just pissed my pants from laughing so hard!
  21. Interesting that you brought this up.In my opinion you have to take forum lists for what they are, internet forum lists.I think you trying to best utilize the forums are a good thing. But remember, people come in all shapes and sizes and everything that is put out there should be taken as entertainment only until proven. You have touched on subjects that have not been dealt with in full detail and you seemed to be bummed about it.I personally think that the scope and detail of such subjects can not be possibly reached in a mailing list unless the people are one hundred percent serious and personally that does not happen. Also, much of the discussions that have been taking place here on this forum are in the "Coffee House".What might help is creating a topic room like"serious only stuff".Since we are on the subject, lets talk about participation.Like all forums you have several individuals that post all the time and most do not.One of the biggest bummers about forum lists is, the lack of participation and that sucks. You mentioned that you have been observing for a few months, why not jump in.You mentioned repeat discussions and a particular paint topic where there was incorrect information that was disseminated and not corrected.Well,if you have the information, why not let us know?
