Edit:  Not cheap enough for you Bunky?  I just checked some prices.  Matco brakes $732, EZlift $2160, Nosewheel assembly $410, gear struts $935, 4 or 5 gallons of epoxy  ~$600.  Then there are the shipping charges . . .

Where did you see this ad, cuz this same guy is advertising on Controller.com and it says call for price.  In addition to exorbitant price  Señor Leal from Mexico is asking for his Berkut, there’s this issue of importing an airplane from Mexico. Let’s say the workmanship on this Berkut is excellent, you’d think for $280,000 it would be equipped with the latest EFIS avionics like Garmin G3X or Dynon SkyView HDX and FULL IFR capability. I agree with Kent, go 30 KIAS slower in a Long EZ, and spend $20,000 on avionics update and you still have over $200,000 to invest in Apple stocks.

What you see here. Been stored in the rafters of a barn in northern Iowa. Disk brake-wheel hubs, rudder pedal assembly, cowling. Many metal parts are tarnished. I can only find one of the landing gear, I'll keep looking for the other. I started the project 30 years ago in Chino, CA and then wound up spending most of my career overseas, so there it sat. There was some tiny damage to the verticle stabilizer and the top of the rudder during transport, easy enough to fix with a little cloth and epoxy.

This is IMO the most under-appreciated homebuilt out there. I agree on how cool Long-EZE's etc are, but I like sitting side by side, being able to use a wider variety of engines, having some real baggage space, and wanted a more docile, economical plane that performs well on a variety of strips.

The project is about three hours south of Minneapolis, but I can move it to the Cities.

Actually, the first thing wrong that stood out to me when I was asked about the plane by prospective buyers is the 789 lb. empty weight (per the dataplate - heaviest VE I've ever seen), which makes this a single seat aircraft for a light pilot with full fuel. Plus the corrosion on the wing attach fittings; the minimal time on the engine over the years and the ancient panel. I've already warned two people away from this plane, but I hope it works out for you. This is why I recommend Pre-Buy examinations... Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's a good deal.

Saw this SQ2000 for sale being refurbed by a well-known person.  Not gonna post the ad because IMO these sort of projects and the SQ2000 should be avoided.  Nevertheless, it's pretty interesting to see what the original builder had in mind: a sort of ERacer hybrid.  I imagine he is glad he got his hand out of the jar.*
