BMC,

Was there anything in particular that swayed you away from this particular bird and toward the one that you ended up buying?

The one I bought was in better cosmetic condition.  Both were in good mechanical condition as far as I could tell.  The JetGuys gave it a decent review as they did the CI.  His son-on-law had put some recent hours on it, so it was known to be a stable flying VE.  Mine had not flown for 6+ years.

I was able to get mine at the right price which allowed me to put a little into it for upgrades.

Puffer Cozy Mark 3

Similar in design and construction to the 2-seat Rutan Long-EZ, the Cozy is a 3-seat design by Nat Puffer. The design utilises a foam and fibre glass sandwich construction, featuring super-stable characteristics at slow speeds, fast cruise and comfortable, economical touring.

This rare example is beautifully built, equipped and ready to fly away!

A couple of VariEze's on Barnstormers:

https://www.barnstormers.com/classified-1602493-Varieze.html

I sent a message asking for pictures but no response.

This one is fairly close to me so I went to have a look a few weeks ago.  Looks to be in decent shape from a construction standpoint.  I couldn't check the main gear stability. Could be a good base, needing engine, panel, electrical, etc.  Registration is N6411Z.
