Absolutely superb, Bruce. Your efforts are most appreciated!

I'm so thrilled to be a part of the book alongside many of my mates and their beautiful aeroplanes. You've triggered off some very fond memories of flying my aeroplane in beautiful USA. Such a terrific bunch of people are involved in this scene!

THANKS.

Cheers,

Any chance 10-15 of these could show up at Osh this year, I bet all of them would sell right away during the main dinner hoe down?

Self confessed Wingnut.

Now think about it...wouldn't you rather LIVE your life, rather than watch someone else's, on Reality T.V.?

Get up off that couch!!! =)

Progress; Fuselage on all three, with outside and inside nearly complete. 8 inch extended nose. FHC done. Canard finished. ERacer wings done with blended winglets. IO540 starting rebuild. Mounting Spar. Starting strake ribs.

You guys are more than welcome, I really enjoyed the process of putting it all together. It was a real privilege working with such great photographs.

Hopefully this book will not only jog some fond memories for a lot of people, but will encourage those that are building (like myself) to keep on building, keep focused. Go mix some epoxy or do some sanding, we can have a beautiful aircraft like one of those in the book.

I would think they would as well. Unfortunately, I'm not going to Oshkosh this year and I hate to burden (be a PITA) someone else with packing books around and collecting money.

Heh! I took the cover photo! Now I have to buy a book!

When I first started collecting photo's back in Oct of last year, Jerry Schneider sent me that photo and said...

Hi Bruce.

Attached should be a sure entry.

It can be cropped for a nice composition.

It was taken at Rough '07.

Ken Laundrie's (builder) plane. Cozy MKIV IO-360, Downdraft Cooling.

The photographer is Jack Fairchild...

Jerry was right, it was a sure entry. I knew when I saw it, it was the cover shot. I did wait until all the photos were in, but this one just says "canard aircraft". It's real nice two-fer shot. Good job Jack, thanks for taking the time to capture a really great photo.

You'll notice several pictures of 2 VariEze's and a Long doing some aerobatics in the book. Patrick Lefevre from France sent those for the book. He also sent several more that were a little late to make it into the book. Here's one of him flying his VariEze, thought you might enjoy this great shot as well.

Notice he has some very interesting additions to his plane.

  • 4 weeks later...

I think I recognize that airplane on the ordering site!

And that's not all... it also takes up the back cover and two full pages in the book. Sorry about cutting out the RV(?) wing on the back cover shot. The formation shot (inside the book) had to stay since you (a canard aircraft) were leading the pack (not counting the photo plane). The photographer took some really great photo's of a really good looking airplane. It's those kinds of shots that make the book what it is, thanks for sharing those with the rest of us.

I'm glad I was able to contribute. Looking forward to getting my copy of the book.

By the way, we do have an excellent air-to-air photographer in our group and a good camera platform in the AT-6 with gunnery seat that swivels around to face the rear. If anyone would like to get shots of their airplane in flight, just get in touch with me and we can arrange it. We have events several times per year in Memphis where we can do it and we usually bring the AT-6 to the big shows (Sun n Fun, OSH, etc).
