catchrow
Tmann, Great job- clever solution.looks great. I have been thinking how to do a similar thing. How positive are the doors when they are open? i.e will the handle crosswinds during takeoff/ climb out and stay open so that the wheel will not jam? Cheers, Rowan
TMann
Yes .... they snap open very firmly and shut the same way. I use 1/8th inch music wire for this so they are not about to blow closed. TMann
G'day TMann Where did you get the hinge hardware? They look GREAT! Very nice. Jeff Sorry ..... I mis-quoted about the hinge. The hinges for the gear doors are the Lazy Tong hinges from Wick's Aircraft. They have a spring in them that you don't need. You just drill out a pin that holds the spring in place and they pop right out. Neverquit
Okay T, now you're just making us all jealous of all that CF you're using. You find a fire sale somewhere? Looks great and strong!
TMann
Hey Greg ..... The CF is great to work with. Expensive but I really like it. I'm starting on my split canopy now and will be using CF to stiffen it.
