jpolenek
I have read A LOT of good things about Todd Silver's canopy work. Airplane Plastics has been an approved source for Cozy canopies so I assume they're good too. Can anybody comment on how Todd's Canopies and Airplane Plastics compare in terms of their capabilities, pricing, etc., especially for custom work? TMann
That may be tough info to get. Most builders buy only one. Todd did right by me. Jerry Schneider
Can anybody comment on how Todd's Canopies and Airplane Plastics compare in terms of their capabilities, pricing, etc., especially for custom work? All I can say is Todd won't let anything out of his shop without it being perfect. It seems he likes custom work too. Quote "I run with scissors." Cozy MKIV N85TT Phase One Testing http://home.earthlink.net/~jerskip
Richard Riley
I bought from both for Berkuts. Both were well made. There's always a little shape variation in free-blown canopies, but there was only one that was far enough from our desired shape that we sent it back - and AP replaced it. Last time I bought them, Todd was half the price of AP. If I had to buy today, I'd buy from Todd.
Nathan Gifford
Todd does great work and its very reasonably priced. There is a lot of art involved in making a canopy and Todd sure seems to be one of them... chasingmars
This is, I suppose, as good a place to ask this as any: Are the Cozy canopies from both suppliers Polycarbonate (Lexan) or Acrylic/PMMA (Lucite, Plexiglass, et al)? Thanks. Quote Craig K. Cozy IV #1457 building chapter seven! http://www.maddyhome.com/canardpages/pages/chasingmars/index.html
Richard Riley
Acrylic. I don't know anyone who makes polycarbonate windshields/canopies for small airplanes. It's much, MUCH harder to work with, scratches easily.
