Steve Innova
Hi, Is the temporary firewall in chapt. 4 actually temporary? Will it be replaced by something else later? If so, do I need to order plywood from Wicks, or can I use something from Home Depot? Stephen
Dave Clifford
The HD stuff is fine for this. Quote Dave Clifford "The Metal Man" Musketeer Vise grip hands and Micrometer eyes!! Cozy MKIV Plans #
John Slade
Is the temporary firewall in chapt. 4 actually temporary? Yep. You throw it out later and use some nice norwiegan pine or something for the real thing. HD is fine. Just be sure it's flat. Steve Innova
John, Where did you find a thermostat (for the epoxy pump box) that went up to 120 degrees? I looked at HD & could only find things that went to approx 90.

Dave Clifford
We are using a thermostat switch that is used for kerosene torpedo heater. It works great. John Slade
$1.20 in Home Depot. Neat little device called a "light bulb". I changed wattage in summer & winter. Simple, cheap and effective. Rui
I used some Baltic Birch plywood for the temp firewall. It's available from a local supplier called Windsor Plywood. You may find such a supplier in your area. Actually Trevor Howard recommended this to me. It is flat and smooth unlike the crap you get at HD and other such places. As for the thermostat I used the 90 degree baseboard heater types and turned the adjustment screw. Its shipped with some sort of loctite type material with the factory setting, but its easy break the lock. mplafleur
A waterbed thermostat is commonly used for the hot box. Quote Mike LaFLeur - Cozy MkIV #1155N68ML
