noodles
Hello, I needed to know the approximate length of a wing. Let's assume the winglet is not attached. Of all the parts in the plane is the wing the longest? The reason I ask is that I need to take the appropriate enclosed trailer length. As the trailer gets larger so does the pulling requirement. This is also relevant in regard to the distance that the trailer will be pulled. One last thing, is this the longest broadest component I will need to accomodate? The project has a tub but the spar is not mounted. The wings and canard have been skinned but that's about it. The turtleback and canopy are also done, but not mounted. Thanks, Nathan Quote Cozy IV project. Redheaded Stepchild of The Canard Community

noodles
At this point the turtle and canopy are not installed on the fuselage. The fuselage does have its nose completed. Quote Cozy IV project. noodles
The acad files off of Marc Zietlans site say 11.6' and some change for the wings. It looks likes I could use the 14 foot trailer and be alright. I would like to get some verification from the canard crowd? Quote Cozy IV project. Jerry Schneider
Just measured my wing (w/o winglet). Allow 12' 3" due to oblique angles. Happy moving! Quote "I run with scissors." Dan Tomlinson
14' should work The fun part is wrapping with blankets to protect, and leading edge down I believe wherever possible (well padded). If the gear is attached it may be best to remove it (2 large studs). It will be much more stable that way. The wings are just over 12', the spar just under 12', fuselage about the same. Winglets are 4' up, and 9" down if installed. Floor space may be more of an issue (width) to get everything in and stable and strapped. Have a great trip! noodles
Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate the validation. My girlfriend and I will be pulling out of here this Thursday night. The plane is located in Knoxville TN, so it's a little more than a 1000 miles each way. I'll load up the truck with spare blankets and probably pick up some more upon arrival. I'll take a digital camera with me and share the fun with everyone. Nathan, Quote Cozy IV project.
