Guest Skippy Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I am toying with the idea of buying a COZY IV. i have a limited budget and am looking for advice on how easy this craft is to build. i only have a single garage which i know will be an issue. I JUST NEED YOUR HELP!!! Quote
John Slade Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 Hi, Do you mean buying, or building? If buying, you need to contact David Orr who runs a canards (and canard projects) for sale network. Either way there are a lot of web sites, including the cozy site at http://cozydevelopment.com and mine at http://kgarden.com/cozy which will help you understand what you're getting into. Go to Cozydevelopment.com then look in the builders section for links to Wayne Hicks, Marc Zeitlin and many others. As far as the single garage is concerned, there are plenty of ways to deal with this, including living with it for maybe 50% of the project. One builder completed his fuselage in his one bedroom apartment. Another erected a large "tent" in his backyard. I built mine on an open patio. Where there's a will, theres a way. If you have questions, (even the proverbial dumb ones) feel free to ask them here. Regards, John Quote I can be reached on the "other" forum http://canardaviationforum.dmt.net

John Slade Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 I figured that would wake you up, Jerry. How's it going up there? Regarding the "tent" - I haven't seen it, but the pictures look very impressive. Air conditioning, solid floor, bench all the ameneties and big enough to build a Cozy in. All on you're back lawn for about 3k. Take a look at Jerry's web site for more details. Cozy1200 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 John, I just tried the http://www.cozydevelopment.com website. Nothing is coming up. Is that the right address or is the site possibly down. I've never heard of the website. I love all your guy's websites. Thanks for keeping them up to date!!! Cozy1200 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Shucks I thought there was another website I would be able to read. I've read nearly every Cozy website so far. I'm sure I'm not that different than most Cozy wanna-be builders. Quote Drew Chaplin (aka the Foam Whisperer) --- www.Cozy1200.com - I'm a builder now! --- Brace for impact...

bigdaddie Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 I second the motion to stop saying and start doing! I Have a 5 car garage and spent a year cleaning it so that I could start this project! After all the cleaning (I threw away or donated more stuff than most people probably own) I still only have enough room for my power tools, Cozy bench, Motorcycle, SUV and Golf cart. Well the workshop is still a mess so I decided screw it and started building. As a matter of fact, I'm waiting for a couple of layups to finish right now. It's taken me about a week to get close to finishing chapter 4 since I am modifying the fuselage significantly. Anyway, it's a blast, order the plans, order the materials, and start building today, clean garage or not! Your car(s) can sit out for a few years Steve Quote
