s35pilot Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 Hi, I'm adding nose gear doors to my flying cozy. I want to use (benefit) from previous experience. I had some plans but dumb me lost them. I know they use doors closed by door springs and air flow to keep themopen. I'm also adding a spring loaded door for the the pivot. Any thought on this or tips appreciated. Any help appreciated, Thanks! Tim Quote
John Slade Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 Tim, Take a look at http://kgarden.com/cozy/chap13b.htm The pictures are a bit poor, and there isnt one of the finished product, but it may help. I could go out to the plane and take a pic if you'd like. Regards, John Slade Quote I can be reached on the "other" forum http://canardaviationforum.dmt.net
s35pilot Posted April 20, 2003 Author Posted April 20, 2003 Thanks, This gives me what I need. The only thing I'm not sure sbout is how to keep the doors from blowing open past 90 deg to the bottom skin. I guess the spring is stiff enough to keep the doors positioned properly. Thanks...Tim Quote
John Slade Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 Good point. I mounted the hinge in such a way that the hinge stopped further travel. I forget exactly how. Quote I can be reached on the "other" forum http://canardaviationforum.dmt.net
