unick3
For Paul: Does anybody know the part numbers for the O rings in the Weatherhead fuel valve? I need to replacements. I call the manufacturer, and they do not recommend that the valves be disassembled, so they will not tell me the part numbers. This is short sighted IMO because the valves will stick if not lubricated at least yearly. The technician I talked to did tell me that the O rings are not standard. Nat Puffer
Dear Paul, The Weatherhead valve has a plastic (I believe Delrin) plug in a metal body. In my experience it does not need to be lubricated. After 9 years (with no lubrication) mine began to turn hard so I disassembled it, found a small black contaminant on the plug, wiped it off and reassembled it with the original o-ring, and it was as good as new. You may be confused with the Imperial valve which is brass on brass and does need to be lubricated, and also is no longer recommended for the Long EZ.
