Guest Guest Flyboy
This is a randomly-periodic reminder that fellow canardian Ed Dokus has made his propeller design software (PropDesign) available to anyone with a Windows PC and web access. PropDesign is a Win-32 port of Ed Dokus's DOS/BASIC propeller design program of more than 10 years ago. It allows one to enter a propeller type (planform, airfoil, number of blades, etc.) and cruise conditions (airspeed, altitude, etc.). It calculates propeller pitch, diameter, chord, thrust and efficiency in both graphical and tabular form, allowing an experimental aircraft designer to ask "what if?" without having to carve/bolt on/fly each new design. PropDesign is in the public domain and free for the downloading (approx. 725 kB) at http://www.nicon.org/chapter328/PropDesign/ On the same page is is a Lotus .wk4 Propeller Blade Load Stress Calculations spreadsheet by Nigel Field. -- Joe VEZ N15CJ Clarkston, WA
