TMann Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Just a heads up..... Drop by the Vacuum Infusion Demo at Oshkosh/AirVenture 2017. In 2015, we built the fuselage for a 82% scale Vought F4U Corsair. In 2016 we built two fuselages. One was for the Star-Lite and the other was the fuselage & strakes for the new single place canard design. This year (2017) we will revisit the Corsair project. The fabrication/infusion of the wing structure for the Corsair will be our primary project. The lead on this demonstration is Russ Emanis. Russ spent 9 years working for Lockheed Martin overseeing composite processing on the F 22 program. The technique demonstrated will allow the production of high quality composite parts with a fiber-to-resin ratio superior to the much more expensive pre-preg/autoclave products. In adition, we will be accomplishing the results outside under a tent.
