That is a most interesting and impressive accomplishment -- an experimental homebuilt aircraft to its core!

It looks like you had trouble with the CAA on this, which is unfortunate.  A light canard aircraft would be a good addition, particularly here in the US in the LSA category.  The has been getting the stall speeds down.

I found a 20-minute documentary on the Iolaire that also conveys anticipated anxiety with regard to flight testing new aircraft designs.  The Iolaire appears to have been a worthy and flyable aircraft based on the last scene's flight footage.
