NG-14 material

Recommended Posts

I ordered the chapter 13 kit from AS&S and it included a piece of "bush stock" 1015/1020 BUSH STOCK 3/8 X.065 that I ASSUME is to be used to fabricate the NG-14's.

The plans don't tell you what to fabricate them from - they just say "fabricate them"...

The "bush stock" inside diameter is too narrow for the bolts, so I drilled them out. I hope this is OK - the archives have mention of this, but no answer.

If anyone can put my mind at ease, I'd appreciate it! TIA!

I think you have the wrong stock. On the regular manual gear, NG-14s are .5" OD, .125" wall or close to that. They function as spacers. See p. 13-3.

I guess that AS&S's chapter 13 kit has the wrong stuff?

1015/1020 BUSH STOCK 3/8 X.065

3003-0 TUBE 1/4" OD X .032" W

4130 STEEL TUBE 5/8" X .058

are the materials listed in AS&S chapter 13 kit.

Can you please tell me what I need to order to have the right material?

Phil, part number 01-00708 from spruce

If you are buying the nose lift from Jack, he includes them.

Well I guess I need to take another look in the box. I had no idea they were included in his kit. Thanks!

Hallelujah! Jack's kit does indeed include a very nice pair of NG-14's! I would not have found them until after I was done if you had not told me, as they were in the bag with the wire harness and I had not taken it out yet.

THANKS! :cool2:
