Cores from Eureka

HiGeez

Recommended Posts

Everyone:

Started on my wing with the cores supplied by Eureka (Steve).

Warning abt this product. I was a piece of...

...absolutly perfectly cut cores. Unless you need the core-cutting fix, Eureka is highly recommended. They were near perfect. No wire drag marks, corners square, parts matched up, etc. What else can I say. Good job Steve.

With the Cozy Girl's parts & Steves's cores, there is no excuse now for not finishing.

Man, you scared me for a minute:yikes: I guess it pays to read more than the first line.:D

Thanks Jerry! Good luck on your project. Please keep me up to speed on your progress.

I'm at Oshkosh right now. Burrall Sanders from Freeflight Composites, the Cozy Girrrls, and myself have a booth right in front of Hangar A (where Nat used to be). We are here for ACS supporting the Cozy Mk IV with our "Cozy Builders Group" booth. Stop by and say hi. I have some small examples of my work, the CGs have a bunch of beautiful metal parts, and Burrall has his new Cozy III sporting a really cool glass panel.

God Bless,

Steve James

Ok, after an attack from some Australian viagra salesmen:irked: :irked: :irked: :irked:, I think the site is back up and operational:D . Let me know if you have any further problems. If you have my site as a favorite, it might not work any more because I had to change some of the filename structure around. The link below should work at any rate, however.

FedEX dropped of my Long-EZ cores today and they are awsome, I highly recommend them..

Unfortunatly I cannot say the same for FedEX:

The box arrived with a scary gash in the side. All was not lost thought as the damage was minor and easily repaired.

Yes, FedEx can do a real number on foam. They got to buy a new set of cores for me. Looks like they placed the box across two other boxes and then dropped a drive-shaft on it! :irked: Notice the smooth "dent" next to the break.

Steve did a great job of getting a replacement pair sent out, with warnings and lables all over the box - made it unscathed!

Wow! I feel lucky after looking at that. The damage to my cores was limited to less than 1" of a corner of one aileron. I micro'd the damaged piece back in place and all is well.

Overall I am very happy with the cores and I plan on ordering a set of wings when the time comes.

In general I've had very good luck with FedEx although there have been a few occasions where there has been damage. The cores come packed in the blocks they are cut from so they are very well protected but foam isn't all that sturdy and can be easily damaged if mishandled. This is especially true of the elevators which are very fragile.

The good new is that I always insure everything I ship through them so, if there is damage, they will pay for it. In the past I've had good luck with getting them to pay up for the damage they've caused. In Phil's case they bought him a new set of elevators and paid to ship them. :D

I've recently gotten orders to move again. Gotta love active duty; I don't think I've lived in the same place for more than 3.5 years since 1990. Anyway, I'm going to take orders through Jan 09 or until I have all I can handle before the move. After that all orders will be on hold. I plan on starting back up again when I get settled in but, due to training requirements, moving, setup, etc it will probably be Aug-Sept 09 at the earliest. See my website for more details or to make an order.

There was a police spokesman who is a regular on a radio station reporting on a break in at a pharmacy here a while ago. They took a crate of Viagra. The spokesman said they would be looking for some hardened criminals...

I hope you're not going to put the ailerons on the canard:confused:

Maybe you could cut all of your foam and ship it to Dennis and let him ship it?

...Chrissi & Randi

I thought about doing something like this. It would cost too much to mail it to anyone first but I could probably find someone to ship for me that is here in the Abilene area. I may try to cut a few extra to have in stock but the limiting factor is my available time. After working on the house to get it ready to sell, packing, house hunting trips, etc, not to mention my day job; there's not much of it left.

It only took me a second to make that mistake, why so long for you to correct me (thanks)? Anyhow the damage to the ELEVATOR, was eventually trimmed off anyhow because the cores come a little long. All is well.
