Spar Bulkheads

The instructions say we are to drill a 1" diameter hole in each of the spar bulkheads befor installing them to allow for cables etc...

1) None of the pictures in the book show these holes cutout. I wonder why.

2) Assuming we are to cut 1" holes do we cut them in the two ends, the two halfways, and the middle bulkhead for a total of 5 holes.

3) Assuming we are to cut the holes, why do we cut the foam first then do the layups?

Thanks for your last reply Wayne. I'm going to do the inside layups per your suggestion.

The holes in the spar bulkheads were an afterthought. Nat probably forgot about needing cable conduits. So it's not discussed in the plans. Just drill out the holes with a 1-inch hole saw after the bulkheads are glassed. It's easier than drilling the hole in the foam and trying to glass around the holes.
