Spodman Posted May 3, 2004 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Quickie 1 plans on ebay ...plans set for the construction of a "QUICKIE 1" AIRCRAFT that I built in 1978-79... This seems to be the act of a very naughty person I've always put the Quickie in the same basket as the Pou D'Ciel (as in ideal for basket cases) but surely somebody out there (besides this guy) is entitled to a fling when copies of the plans are sold. What would you do if you built this? Well, as it turns out, the Quickie was the first plane built by one of the administrators here (not me): http://www.cozybuilders.org/Q2.html I never had a desire to build one, as they are just a bit too odd for me, but to each their own. Perhaps they have some crazy flying characteristics that I'm not aware of. I'm also sure it would be a challenge getting by the "I'm not getting in that thing" statements. The Dragonfly kit was sold by Slipstream Industries to Dart Industries a while back. Quickie builder information is available at www.quickbuilders.org Finally, selling original plans is not at all illegal. Not sure what a 'fling' is, but the seller is the only one entitled to any money when selling original plans (or any other items he may care to put on eBay). Quickie plans, old books, and Beanie Baby toys -- same thing. The images were illegible, and the text was splotchy at best. Better version are available through peolpe in the quickiebuilders group: http://www.quickiebuilders.org Also I got a little tired of seeing all of the people on eBay selling crappy version of the plans, so I created my own website as a repository for information to help builders of the quickie designs. I love my Quickie 1, I have only had it for 12 months and now I live in china I don't get to fly it that often. For a pilot on a budget I don't think you will find many aircraft so cheap to own, run and with this performance. The only time my Quickie will come on the market is after I'm gone..!!!
